Targeted and Painless Microcurrent
A Modern Approach to Improving Health
At Charlotte Acupuncture and Wellness Center, we are dedicated to helping our patients improve their health as quickly as possible. Microcurrent stimulation is a therapy that involves gentle, low-level electrical current that is similar to the body's own electricity. This current may be applied to acupuncture needles and/or electrode pads. Specific frequencies may have a direct effects on our bodies and can quickly influence the body's chemistry and enhance certain functions. For example, there are frequencies clinically proven to reduce inflammation whiles others may help to improve circulation or reduce pain.
- Shingles
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome
- Disc Injuries
- Fibromyalgia
- Diabetic Neuropathy
- Neuromas (overgrowth and scarring to a nerve after an injury)
- Tendinopathy (inflammation and/or swelling of the tendon)
- Acute (sudden) And Chronic (long-term) Musculoskeletal Injuries
- Acute And Chronic Neuropathic (nerve) Pain
- Chronic Fracture And Bone Pain
- Arthritis
- Torticollis (head is tilted to one side)
- Disc Injuries / Discogenic- And Facet-Based Pain
- Viscerally-referred Pain
- Concussions
- Headaches
- Plantar fasciitis
- Wounds - slow to heal
Microcurrent is repeated 1-4 times a week until maximum improvement is experienced. A maintenance regimen is often prescribed to maintain results of the treatment and/or prevent recurrence of any symptoms treated. Maintenance may be as little as 1-2 times per month. The total number of procedures you will need will vary based on your specific condition, the amount of time you've had it, other health issues, etc.
Microcurrent is applied to the body with a device that delivers a very mild current. This current is mostly commonly applied through either acupuncture needles or electrode pads. Microcurrent is an extremely mild electrical current (one millionth of an ampere). Depending on the tissue(s) involved, specific frequencies are selected to encourage and accelerate the natural healing processes of the body.
There are 100’s of frequencies available to target many different bodily tissues and chemical processes, including: decreasing inflammation and pain, balancing the nervous system, increasing circulation and assisting the body heal more efficiently.
